Adventure Speyside offers outdoor learning and residential adventures from our centre in Cromdale, near Grantown-on-Spey and Aviemore.
With instructor-led activities, group challenges, shared accommodation, and time away from the classroom, school residentials at Adventure Speyside are designed to help young people build confidence, develop teamwork, grow independence, and have fun.

What’s included?
Adventure Speyside offers high-quality outdoor learning and residential experiences for school groups in the heart of northern Scotland.
Residential stays can be built around three, four, or five-day packages, with each itinerary shaped around your school, group size, and preferred outcomes.
Activities may include canoeing, gorge walking, abseiling, rock climbing, hillwalking, and team challenges. Sessions are led by experienced and fully qualified Adventure Aberdeen instructors, with activity kit and transport included.
Learning beyond the classroom
School residentials give young people the chance to learn, grow, and succeed in a friendly and supportive environment.
During their stay, pupils will take part in group activities focused on teamwork, communication, challenge, and problem-solving. They will also help out with tasks around Adventure Speyside, supporting independence, responsibility, and life skills.
A trip to Adventure Speyside can help young people increase their confidence, build character, develop resilience, and create memories with their classmates.
The centre
Adventure Speyside is a recently renovated former school building in the village of Cromdale, around 5 minutes’ drive from Grantown-on-Spey and 25 minutes from Aviemore.
The centre sleeps up to 50 people and includes six dormitories with bunk beds, two rooms with single beds plus ensuite, a fully equipped kitchen, deck area, BBQ, drying room, male and female shower blocks, and space for groups to spend time together between activities.

Prices are for the 2025/2026 academic year and are based on a minimum of 16 pupils.
