Junior Tennis

Help young players aged 11 to 17 develop their skills, confidence and match play with structured tennis coaching on full-size courts.

Overview

Junior Tennis is designed for secondary school players aged 11 to 17, helping young people continue their tennis development in a structured, supportive and challenging environment.

At this stage, players use a full-size court and yellow tennis balls, just like the professional game. Sessions focus on developing technique, tactical understanding, movement, physical confidence and different styles of play.

Junior Tennis costs £36.50 per month, payable by Direct Debit.

Developing confident young players

Junior Tennis helps young players improve their game while building confidence, focus and enjoyment on court. Coaching is delivered through game-based methods, giving players the chance to practise technique, develop tactics and apply what they learn in realistic playing situations.

Players are encouraged to explore their own style of play, improve their physical skills and take part in competition where appropriate, including in-house and external tournaments.

Did you know that Junior Tennis is often referred to as ‘yellow’ tennis because the tennis balls are yellow?

What to expect

Junior Tennis sessions help players:

  • Develop technique on a full-size tennis court
  • Use yellow tennis balls, as used in the professional game
  • Learn point tactics through game-based coaching
  • Explore different playing styles
  • Improve movement, coordination and physical confidence
  • Build experience through match play and competition

Who is it for?

Junior Tennis is suitable for young people aged 11 to 17 who are ready to play on a full-size court. It is ideal for players progressing from Mini Tennis, as well as secondary school-aged players looking to develop their skills further.

Competition and progression

Players are encouraged to learn through competition and take part in suitable in-house and external tournaments. This helps young people develop match experience, confidence and a stronger understanding of the game.
